Venture Competition 2016 – Winner!

This year for the Venture Competition 2016, entrepreneurial students at Brunel University had the opportunity to compete for a prize of up to £5,000 to kick start their business idea.

Students participated in Business Plan Bootcamp workshops held by the Innovation Hub before submitting their applications for the Venture Competition.

Ten finalists were short-listed from a huge number of submissions and the finalists were invited to pitch their business ideas in front of a panel of business experts. A massive well done to the 10 finalists:

  3. Denis Pavon – ‘Kali Coffee’
  4. Josh Otudeko – ‘Power Pill’
  5. Cil Tiam Poon – ‘Find Me Stock’
  6. Ehab Sayed – ‘Biohm’
  7. Fabio Da Costa – ‘LVCX’
  8. Remi Turton – ‘Blooming Bunches’
  9. Chitra Ravi – ‘Onelifetwoways’
  10. Ibiere Banigo – ‘Zoo Kidz’

The judges rigorously questioned the finalists about their business models and after some intense discussion, they finally decided on the winner to be awarded the full prize of £5,000!


Congratulations to Ibiere Banigo for winning £5,000 in the Venture Competition for her fantastic idea and pitch for her business, Zoo Kidz!

Zoo Kidz will be an innovative member’s only booking website that will be a platform for parents to find experienced child-minders and tutors. In addition, they will have a live events page to let parents know about exciting events taking place locally. Their aim is to revolutionise the way parents hire child-minders  and tutors as well as help tutors and child-minders to find work opportunities. Ibiere has now also been entered in the Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards competition. We wish her the best of luck on her journey of turning her business idea into a reality!
